"Building the character of the athlete while teaching the game of volleyball"

Co-Founders Kelly Van Winden and Kelly Porter were looking to create an opportunity for players and families to learn the game of Volleyball but not get emotionally , physically, or financially burned out. The goal is to provide reasonably priced trainings with reasonable commitment levels. WE CREATED IT and are proud of what we stand for.

KELLY VAN WINDEN BIO

A
former Division I All-American performer at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and professional indoor and outdoor player, Kelly has taken her passion for the game and directed it into coaching young adults. Currently the head coach at Napa Junior College, Kelly has coached at all levels.  From high school in Santa Barbara, to the collegiate level at Sonoma State University, and club levels at every age range. From the floor where she once played the game, to the sideline, where she coaches, to the referee stand, Kelly has witnessed the game from many perspectives.  The insight that comes from years of experience allows her to develop and train individuals with passion and rigor that IS RARE.

Kelly attributes her passion for coaching to the many coaches that have bestowed their knowledge on her when they were training her.  Making her top five list are: Ken Preston (UCSB) Mike Wilton Cal Poly (SLO); Dave DeGroot (CAL); Rick Olmstead (Santa Barbara); and Kathy Gregory (UCSB).

KELLY PORTER BIO

Kelly brings a unique perspective to her coaching philosophy, having been a multi-sport standout at the High-School, Junior College and Division II College level.  She has taught and coached at the Elementary, Jr. High, High School and Club Levels.  Kelly previously was the head volleyball coach at Justin-Siena High School and led the Braves to a 2
nd place finish in the 2007 North Coast Section Championships.  Following the 2007 season, she was awarded MCAL Coach of the Year honors.  She is also a Physical Education teacher at multiple Elementary Schools in the Napa Valley. Kelly currently is the head volleyball coach at Vintage High School.

Because of her history as a  multi-sport athlete, Kelly knows the difficulty that today’s time-challenged student-athletes face.  This awareness shapes her approach to mentoring and teaching the importance of character and responsibility, both on and off the court.
